Wireless Video Entry Systems Come of Age

EntryIn the past the purchase of a wireless video entry system was an expensive undertaking.  It was a luxury only the truly affluent could afford, or those who had something of importance to protect or hide.  Systems of this type can now be purchased for a fraction of what their prehistoric ancestors would have rung up.  However, these systems are just as reliable, are easier to use, and have features not heard of for the average home owner.

No matter what your reason for needing an electronic device at your entry door, there is a product to suit your needs.  In the past even those individuals with what was a high-tech video entry system had poor picture quality.  We have all seen television shows where the police are reviewing camera footage to determine who might or might not be a suspect.  The pictures were always grainy, fuzzy, distorted, and just downright awful.  The cameras on the market now take pictures you would be proud to frame and place on the mantel.  After all, what good is the video, if you cannot make out who or what is at the door?

The cameras of today have the capacity to pan and view 170 degrees.  Keep in mind the angle of most front doors is 180 degrees, meaning these cameras will see all but a total of 10 degrees on both sides of your door.  The camera has the capacity to tilt, zoom, and pan.   Users have the option to zoom in to see the identification card someone is displaying on their jacket.  They have the ability to zoom out to the street to get the license plate or advertisement panel on the side of a vehicle for further identification.  There is no longer a need to open a door to a stranger.

Most importantly, today’s wireless video entry system is vandal resistant.  Would-be intruders will be unable to remove, destroy, or damage your camera in attempts to keep their identity from being established.  As an added bonus, the control panel has the capacity to turn lights on and off.  Therefore, you would have the ability to turn the porch light on to get a good look at your visitor.  You will no longer need to be concerned if the person at your front door is a kind neighbor delivering fresh brownies from the oven, or a recently escaped convict looking for a place to hide.  The only thing missing is smell o-vision so you can tell just how good those brownies are before you open the door.
